I'm comming back again and again to this photo to understand why is that "I love you...(heart)" written... Indeed, why?
I see an excellent portrait, wonderful eyes and smile. But, the model is not young, ok, doesn't look childish enough to write a message in the hand. She can convey that message in many other ways...At least, she could have written something like "Je t'aime", "ich liebe Dich", or keep only the heart, as not to have this long kitchy message.
Sometimes people give terrible votes to great photos because the photo didn't meet the challenge. I feel that here, the message was written to keep the photo romantic.
Or, I'm missing something really huge? |

What???! A 5.7. I didn't vote but looking at the pages, it should be a top ten at the very least. Quirky, witty, technically sound. Not an attention grabber but it grows on you as you look at it closer and longer.

| The catchlight really helps to draw attention to your model's eyes. Her smile almost looks coy, but feels a little too posed to have full impact. The text on her hand clearly conveys the message, but I wonder whether her using her finger to beckon the viewer with a "come hither" gesture would have conveyed the same thought more effectively. I find the gleam on her ring a bit distracting; if this were an advanced editing challenge a little judicious burning might have been in order. I have mixed feelings about the B&W. I think that it draws attention to her lovely skin tone, but it also highlights the color difference between her eyebrows and her hair, which I think upsets the otherwise balanced presentation. The close crop helps to accentuate the intimate feel of the image. |

| I love the honest expression on her face, which reminds me to a mood of "tears of happiness", cheering up after a quarrel, which is a really great feeling. The writing on her hand reminds me to those days when I rote boys' names in the corners of my books, or also on my hand, because I thought it would bring me luck with the guy. Good luck! |
