 Wow...my first ribbon. I am stunned. All I can say is a big "thank you" to the DPC community for being such an incredible learning resource. I can’t begin to tell you how many hours I’ve spent on this site reading and learning from so many wonderful people.

I wish I could say that I hunted high and low for the perfect winter iris, in the wild, on a rainy day. I can’t...it was a rainy day and it was a perfect iris, but I found it at the local supermarket and used a spray bottle to create the water droplets. Fiddling with the temperature and saturation in the Adobe RAW converter was critical to get the blue and yellow just right.

Post-processing details:
* Various adjustments in Adobe RAW converter to bring out blue as much as possible (temp, saturation, etc.)
* Crop
* Levels
* Resize
* Unsharp mask 50, .8, 1
* Save for web

well done. you should have taken the blue, there are no two ways about it...wel according to me anyway!!! i just love the colour, i can lokk at this pic for hours, again well done and grats on the ribbon!!!

Hey Jay: This is a killer image and one of my favorites in this challenge. The secret of blue is to present it in its most natural state and you have achieved this plus.

Wonderful macro shot. Focus just right. The contrast of the blue and yellow results in a vibrant photo - and the rain drops lend it s fresh feel.
