My 52mm +3 filter placed on top of glass marbles. My first attempt at filming glass. I had no idea how difficult this was going to be in the end. I ended up using 3 light sources (one handheld and my arm was getting mighty tired) and tracing paper on each to diffuse. Everything was wildly reflecting something and shadows were running amok, especially in between the marbles. With the 3rd light source, I was able to eliminate the shadows, and I managed to snuff out 4-5 major reflections. I didn't have a polarizer since i was using my S30, but if i did use it, the desired reflection wouldn't show up as it did. Soooo many things to balance and it was driving me insane.

In the end, the glass marbles where just very unforgiving. But I did, however, learn alot about light sources and reflection control. My major dilemma was I couldn't increase my levels or exposure too much or the marbles would be indistinct from the white of the surface; I had to leave some shadow to outline the marble spheres.

It was difficult reducing the unwanted reflections on the marbles and filter while keeping the table reflection clear and distinct

I probably bit off more than i could chew with this one. Technically over my head.

At least you received ZERO ones! Notice how the No Camera score is much lower....as if they don't understand the difficulties of photographing white on white with all that glass. This is a very good shot!

Hey!! What are those spheres? They look to be made of too high quality glass to be common place marbles?

5 for originality & saying the challenge subject + 5 for the lighting & composition = 10. Just beautiful.
