::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:
The lushness is great, the first impression is lovely.

Composition:
"great shot" quote from a commentor ... and it is. I think that the ways I can see this improving include a different crop, perhaps working the deer towards the thirds line. The fllen tree works the horizontal thirds well.

Subject:
Defiantely meets off centred and gives the impression of being left behind.

Technical (Colour and light):
This shot is a little dark, but nature has provided and done ok with the lighting. I think adding a little brightness may have assisted, but it also may have killed it, so it works leave it!

To grow its vote?:
Top 100 .. I think that is good. It is a solid shot, with some good emotions evoked.

Summary:
Well done, I think that you have some fantastic ideas in your portfolio and come from left field alot ... keep doing it.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers

Kari

I gave this an 8. And added it to my Favorites as you can see. Very nice scene - looks like a painting. A more finely tuned crop was my main 'criticism'. I'm sure this 'wall sized' would make a very good print.

Love the fallen tree, it draws my eyes right which then emphasizes that your subject is off-center.
