I'm not sure if there is anything transparent in this photo. It is very interesting though.

I'm sorry, I'm trying really hard but I just don't see the connection to the theme from this photo.

transparency?

Okay, so I'm an idiot. I have studied, and studied and I just can't make the connection to transparency. Is it the fingernail looking things? It's a very well done picture -- good focus, composition, etc. and I apologize in advance if I am missing something totally obvious. karmat

I think I'll stick to a peanut butter sandwich, thanks.

If this were a painting or colloge the combinations of color and textures are right on. Alas I do not see how light has been transformed by something transparent.

sorry, I didn't understand the transparency part.

Really creative idea. It almost looks like the words are written on the clippings though, instead of underneath them. I think maybe if you'd extended them to be a bit bigger than the clippings, it would have been more clear. I like how it's very contrasty though...gives it a mysterious feeling, and I really like the frame of torn paper (?) - Kimberly

The challenge was "transparency". What am I missing here?
07/02/2002 12:22:00 PM
there is obviously some artistic concept going on here that I'm completely missing. Voodoo? Magic? Mojo?are the words written underneath the fingernails or whatever those are? maybe if you would have slid part of the word out from underneath one of them if that's supposed to be the transparent part. I'm sorry I don't get it but it's a nice clear shot anyway. Marie Laveau was voodoo queen of New Orleans...I get the whole voodoo concept...just...well..I'm upping my vote a little because it has good detail anyway....

Beautifully done, well lighted, nice composition. I lile it. but....
I don't "get it" Are those broken fingernails? Whats that dark colord thing?
Beautifully done though. Well done even if I don't get it.

whatever you used that's transparent, it's so transparent that i don't get it. as for the photo itself, i like how you have framed it around the edges, but there isn't a single object in the middle that holds my focus, since they are all similar size. nothing jumps out i guess. -- gr8photos (2)

This is just...unique. I think the lighting could be a bit more even and the focus could be sharper on the objects around the sides. Very original though.

If this is a recipe for an invisible spell, you left out the eye of newt.

Interesting photo but the 'transparent' aspect of it is way beyond my wildest imagination... = 3 - jmsetzler
