 everyone has had a pair of these shoes and if you havnt you should get some but yea they just remind me of old highschool romances.

I think what I would have done here is shot those sneakers (in the way you laid them) on a basketball court or sidewalk pavement. The carpeting just seems out of place for these sneakers and it doesn't add anything to the shot, IMO.

I see the heart in the laces but outside of that, this shot really doesn't convey romance to me. Lighting is just a bit off. And needs sharper focus.

The debris on the bottom of the shoe is distracting. Even if I could read love into this image, it's still a far cry from romance.

nice idea. like how you laid the laces to not make the heart too obvious. perhaps a duotone conversion to red could have strengthened your cause for the voters.

Nice composition. Image is too dark overall, brighter levels with a white somewhere would be better.

Um, there isn't anything technically wrong with this shot. I personally am unmoved by the choice of subject matter. IMO it's just too drab - the grey carpet backing doesn't help.

composition seems a bit off and the lighting flat...cool concept! are those chucks?
