I was drawn right to this one when I opened your portfolio. The gentleman there looks like has stories to tell, and has definetly seen his share of hardship. You've captured the essence of him so well. I have never seen Ms. Landley's work before, but I'm going to look it up now. |

This is a great shot.
I could write a lot about the frank and simple way Dorothea Lang displays her portraiture. I really love this photographer.
You also display emotion in a very simple way. You don't need much of a sorrounding elements to enhance anything you present.
I am not sure about this edit, as it feels a bit too dark to me, and I don't think it is needed. I think this man's eyes say enough without the need to be in a dark area.
But other then that I think this is a fine tribute to a great photogrpaher! |

Probably somebody already told you this... her name is Dorathea Lange. I like this but think that his bright zipper interfears with the mood. |

Powerful image has emotional impact, sharp eyes, beard, zipper, wrinkles contrasting with soft hooded shirt and blurred background. Wonderful. |

the eyes don't seem that haunting to me. also, dorothea always seemed to have some background with the figure. the blurred out background and floating 3-d foregrounded subject with shiny highlights, including zipper, seems undorothea to me. But nice photo. |

The tones are quite representative Lange's work, as is the haunting look you've captured. Nice job of isolating the subject from the background as well. |

The glint in his eye is just mesmerizing. It's almost haunting. I love the blur in the background. I would love to see this man and see for myself the years of experience written all over his face. Langley would be proud. |

very nice shot Despair akin to immigrant mother. One small point. The jacket is too new and the zipper is kinda of stylish. But really well done 9 |

I'm not familiar with Lanley, but your tribute is very well done. Great tones and highlights. Excellent job of isolating your subject. Very nice! |

Do you mean Dorothea Lange? If so, your tones are way off. |

the capture is great the editing is far to obvious, and IMO more that she would do. your seperater edit to the backround is what i am refurring to, u should feather next time u do an outline like the 1 u did. also what every edit u did (looks like curves) has some odd hot tones 2 it, that have been very harchly grayed out and appear in very strange color. |

Excellent title. I like how his eyes jump out of the page. The leading line of the silvery zipper really draws you to his face. Great tribute to Dorothea too! |

oversharpened in some parts, highlights in eyes look wrong, background too dark IMO, but still a very good portrait |

The sepia effect has characterised this image to perfection, the position of the subject leaning forward adds to the despair, Dorothea Langley would be proud...10 |

I hate to see Dorothea Lange's name so butchered in the title :-( It's a nice shot though. |
