Captured the mood of the nectaring perfectly from this angle. |

I don't see how this shot can be improved. 10 from me and on my favorites list. |

Nice photo, but I don't think it fits the category of "non-domesticated mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians" |

Fantastic colors and DOF. Beautiful picture. The details really make the shot. |

Nice shot, but insects are not included in the challenge. |

How did you get that butterfly to choose a flower in a complementary color? ;-) Sure does make the picture sparkle. It also helps that the butterfly is tack sharp focus. I give this a 9. |

very nice compositio ... terrific color, backlit exposure, and focus ... effective use of DOF to isolate headliners! |

This is one of the top two or three pictures in this challenge. The pity is that it does not meet the challenge criteria: "non-domesticated mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians". Would love to give it a higher score. |

This has far more than the typical butterfly macro. I love the textural variations as well as the combination of warm and cool tones. 9 |

beautiful capture, but as I am sure others have said, not positive I can call a butterfly "wildlife" |

Wow! This is fantastic. Best that I have seen so far for this challenge. I like the way the butterfly is backlit. |

"WOW" factor here, so very good, a great close-up, and you have captured the butterfly & flower details so very well........one of my favorites..... |

This is a magnificent macro - truly great work. The colour is magical, the composition interesting and it meets the challenge perfectly. Has to be a 10. |

7 - Nice capture and colors. Criticism; this looks slightly 'unnatural', whether it is pp work, or what not sure, but apologies in advance if wrong. Sharper/more definition in the butterfly would have made this even better in my opinion. Possibly a little more space 'around' the butterfly as well, but not sure as 'works' as is. Also, the plant is not lavender, not sure what, maybe liatris, who knows, but your title may be referencing color anyway. |

As beautiful as this is, and I do have it as a favorite, it is DNMC for being an insect. My score reflects that. |

Amazing capture! My only complaing is that the whole lavender stem is focused except for the very top. Otherwise, this is a beautiful image. :) |
