not quite as clean as his images are but...

a martini glass balanced on top of three marbles set on a mirror... it was difficult to get the marbles evenly spaced. i wanted to use only one marble - but just couldn't figure a way to get it to work. hopefully the underlying impact is a chaotic one - yet to the eye seemingly peaceful.


not sure how i got it to balance, but i managed it twice without breaking a thing while keeping a 75# puppy in check !

five photos taken in RAW, one contender.

lit by a 550ex on the floor aiming up. in pool talk this would be a vanishing edge. using a long mirror with two sides of the frame torn off allows the far end and edge to meld with the background.

not a whole of processing - converted from raw - some color adjustments to red, green, and yellow. USM'd full size image - canvas size for border - resize - USM again - save as for web

Nice balance of contrast, colors and symmetry. The delicate balance on glass marbles are superb as well as the use of the mirror to further accentuate the shapes and lines of this beautiful piece. Great job my friend.

Nice colors and gradients. Overall image seems too mid-tone, brighter levels and/or a touch more contrast may help.

I find the top rim of the glass distracting for some reason...but a good style match..great colours, perfect focus..how long must that set up have taken!!
Probably would have done great in "Blue II" !!

I don't know anything about Nitsche, but you're photo is very good. I find the mainly cool tones with the reflected warm tones in the glass very interesting. Very nice!

The colors here are beautiful. I love the way the background is transformed to look like cloudy sky in the glass.
