 3/8" Rebar was pretty easy to bend, one at a time. There were 5 bars in this grip, obviously pre-bent one by one :) Bar was anchored to 2x4's to hold it in place while I set the camera timer and grasped the bar.

RAW conversion, Curves, Saturation, Slight Crop, USM.

I left the wedding ring on purpose, to ground the fantasy and to show that there is more to being Superman than just superhuman powers.
But for those of you who have probably scored this down, saying "Superman wasn't married!", he was in fact married to Lois Lane in the mid 90's

Congratulations on top 20. Should have placed even higher.

It's a great shot, but I'm just realizing something: is the superman body a photo or cut out, and just the hands are real? It doesn't quite look 3D. The photo works well in any case, but I'm wondering about this now.

Crap, I can't believe all the stupid comments about the ring. Wasn't this supposed to be a fantasy shot??

Considering how posed the rest of the shot was, I assumed that you actually left the ring on purpose, would love to know if I just read too much into that. Maybe it should be like an REM song, the words aren't really to be understood. BTW I did give this a 10.

edit - read comments beofore speaking moron, I now know the answer to my question. Glad to know I was right, whish everone else had gotten it.

wow, I had this pegged for the yellow. Oh well, in my book, this is still one of the three best images in the challenge.

Very nice and super strong. I would have reduced the red just a tad since it is that prominent, however, I appreciate the nice colorful expression. Bumping up.

Superman's married? Does Lois know? Like the vivid color though, really pops...almost a little too much. Looks like you're losing detail in the cape area due to over saturation.

The odd, warm color cast is distracting, and the superman background looks very flat.

Nice image. Sharp and smack in focus. I would lose the ring though unless he married Lois Lane ;) or is it Lana lang now? Great job!

This is the top of the heap of the several Superman shots. The color, lighting, and exposure are all excellent, and the action being carried out in this photo lends it a lot of strength and dynamism. (Hah, I just said an image of Superman has strength.) I snickered a little bit when I noticed the wedding band - nice touch to ground this picture in reality and remind us that it's still a fantasy.

A well-considered 9 from me.

You've turned an imaginative scene into reality, and you've done it very well. The lighting seems a bit harsh, and I suspect you're gonna get comments about Mr. Kent's wedding band, but this is one of my top picks. 9

ok being that im wearing my superman steatshirt at the moment you definatly get a + for this (but being that i a fan i nit pick....) Why is superman wearing a ring?!?! On a technical note well composed i like the fact that you didnt include the face. Well lit, and over all a great job. the only improvement i would make would be to light it in such a way to see more muscle contous on your model.

Well done. I'm going to take a guess and say that this will ribbon. The colors have that wow impact that dpc loves, superman is something everyone will immediately know and relate to and there are other interesting aspects of this such as the anonymity and the inclusion of the weddingband with the bent steel leading to it as if to possibly suggest some connection, some meaning behing what truly makes a man of steel, to make this more than a pop off the screen image to be quickly passed by.
