Greetings from the Critique Club! This is my second ever Critique Club comment and I'd never expected to get a picture from Manny to critique :) Congratulation on n'th well deserved ribbon!
My standard text :)

I'm by no means expert in area of photography. My comments are purely based on my limited understanding of technology and art behind digital photography. Apart from doing detailed evaluation of your submission, my intent is to learn different styles of photography by critically evaluating selective submissions.
Composition :
-------------
Perfect!!!! Do I need to say more? This is great photo which really fits the challenge. The "feel" of being in fantasy land is what it communicates. I dont want to embarrass myself by leaving any comments which might sound silly (for such perfect photo) :)
Camera Work :

Perfect. Period.
Post-processing :
-----------------
The idea of sharpening to enhance the pattern on dress worked very well. I dont know if a little more contrast would have been helpful for those who have their monitors on brighter side. Diffused glow really makes this from fairy land :)
Summary :
---------
Perfect picture. I did not voted for this challenge but would have voted 9 for this one (because 9 is the best I ever give :)) but I could have guessed it to be your submission. It really deserved to be in top 3 ... and I feel it should have been at top. But thats because of my personal preferece for pictures which look less of "digital art". Great work!

| Manny-I think this is one of your better entries. The PP is really effective and the compostition is on the mark. I myself have been playing around in various directions with my saturation levels to achieve a similar effect. Well done. |

| The placing of the subject in the image is more eye catching then if it were in the exact center. The sea green color gives the image a foggy feeling. |

| This looks like one of librodo's shots. The symbolic connotations of the girl's pose really add a lot to this already strong image. The texture of the lace and wings make the image look slightly over-sharpened. The high-key lighting has washed out a lot of the tonal detail on her face (the symbolic differences between the lighting techniques would have been interesting too; making the light fade from light on one side to dark on the other would have been interesting as well, regardless of which side was lighter). Personally I'd have rather seen a lower-key version with more detail in her face. The lighting is a touch flatter than I'd like. Having said that, this is still my top pick for the ribbon in this challenge. Nicely done. |

| is this a fantasy? the cool thing about this challenge is that it forces you to see other fantasies and accept them. can't really argue with this challenge.. background is actually cooler than the overexposed subject. but brave attempt. |

| Perhaps the best photograph in the challenge from a portrature, technical point of view but I feel it may be lacking in the fantasy realm in that it seems more like a dress-up, model shoot, than an actual recreation of a specific fantasy or fantasy world. However, it is still one of the best photos in the challenge and I expect it to score well. I would just have liked to see something more engaging done with such a beautiful model, costume, and obvious technical and processing skills. |
