I took this in the hot, dry, Altamont hills of Central California. Each year during the hot summer months many, many acres of grazing land are consumed by either man made or natural fire. I thought this view was especially emotive. Enjoy!

This would have worked in the new challenge "Contrast" no question some of that grass got a little warm.

Looks like a giant shadow at first glance. Very striking image of land that was once scorched. [7]

at first I thought that dark area was a shadow, then I realized it was burned. Nice loaction
