Location: Taos, New Mexico
Date: Jan 14, 2006

Editing: Crop, levels, lighten midtones on face and shirt of boy, lighten midtones on hacky sack, resize, unsharp mask, sharpen tool on hack sack.

Two boys were playing hacky sack on the Plaza in Taos - a little crowd had gathered to watch. This was the best picture I could get to make one of the players stand out. Wish I could have gotten more of the people in the background included and less of the car. The boys were jumping around so much kicking the hacky sack that they were really hard to photograph.

He is singled out from the background but where is the crowd?

good stop action capture. I know you cropped the way you did for the challenge but I see a much stronger composition if you cropped behind the boy's left arm.

Nice stop action with shallow DOF to isolate your subject. Well done

I like the way you singles him out, but I wish I could see more of his body and his playing instead of the ball just coming towards his head

The ball is nicely caught in the air, but the rest of the stuff in the frame is not very interesting.

great timing. moving the camera slightly to the right might have positioned the player and his footbag in a more pleasing manner. But...its a candid after all :)
