 This isn't the "Best" picture I took in 2005 (that would be of my girls) but it is one of the very first images that I took when I started getting serious about my captures in September. I loved the colors and DOF that this had. I really wish I were more "advanced" in editing - I know there must be a way to make this look better. I wanted the berries to appear very crisp and popping while everything else looked soft - but I kept getting a bunch of noise - especially on the berry stems. My original looks a lot better - very clear and noise free. I always seem to gain some distortion during my "saves" and have yet to read the tutorial on that as a member of the critique club suggested :)

All auto settings on camera and macro and natural light (of course).

Editing: crop, slight hue, blackpoint, gamma, despeckle, edge preserver, sharpen, re-size and border. OH - my first attempt at spot editing - I edited out an orange cone in the river and some brown junk on that main leaf by the light post - obvious I'm sure - but as mentioned - my first attempt :)

nice image, right away the lamp post is distracting so therefor comp needs work, excellent color, blacks need a small tweek, whites ok, nice texture, nice flow, good light, nice dof, overall this could be a nice print

Nice colors. It is a beautiful scene. Perhaps a better composition could have improved shots like this in the future, but nice work.

I think there is too much in this photo to distract the viewer. If it were just berries with the river and sky in the background that would be good. But the lamp post and concrete posts are very distracting.

I like all the vibrant colour but feel that the composition is very cluttered and leaves my eyes wandering with no where to rest them....maybe an lower angle with the berries against the beautiful sky would have been more effective
