A wonderful scene. This is, of course, made for HDR which was probably only in someone's imagination in 2005. It would allow the sky to not dominate the eye's attention with that bright area. A longer aspect ratio would also be helpful in this one and I'd consider cropping to almost remove the entire pebble beach. Finally, I personally clone things out like the boat on the right as distracting elements. I tend to favor a clean canvas. Still, you picked an iconic location to photograph. |

Great shot. I used to live in Rockland about 70 miles up the coast. This brings back many memories of my teen years. |

Great shot Ray! I so wanted to go there when we were in Maine last summer, but didn't make it there. It was hard enough convincing my family to go with me to Bass Harbor lighthouse.
I see you got some complaints about oversharpening/haloing on the rocks. Have you tried Focus Magic (there's a free trial, lets you do 5 photos). I like the way it sharpens better than USM. Doesn't seem to halo, at least at lower sharpening settings which is more than enough. Works very well just after you reduce to 640. (And you can also apply it before reducing, if you want uber-sharp.) |

Wonderful image. Just the right amount of everything. The only problem is the fringing on the roofs. They could be edited out by using defringe, or using painbrush to remove the outline. |

I was born in Cape Elizabeth but haven't been back for 35 years. I've even painted Portland headlight from that same angle from old family photos.
Your shot is perfect and brings back fond memories from my childhood.
I'll give you a 10 ; ) thanks |

I like the viewpoint chosen, although the land looks to be a little oversharpened and harsh. |

Nice scenery, but oversaturated. The whites on the buildings seems a bit overpowering. |

Very nice. I like how you left it natural without a lot of processing as the natural colors and light are beautiful enough. Tad over-sharpened maybe. Composition is pretty good. |
