Interesting cropping and lovely b/w to bring out this theme. 7 |

I like this but I'm not sure if it quite works for the challenge. The focus in the background is actually quite sharp and my interest keeps being drawn to the two girls. He seems to be isolated more by his actual distance from the crowd and the fact that he is sitting and everyone else is walking. If the challenge had been simply to create a candid shot in which you isolate a single subject this would fit the challenge but minimal depth of field was specified. |

Nice shot, but no one is "really" singled-out by minimal depth of field here. (6) |

Hug contrast .. may be a bit too much. Nice use of the vertical framing. I would have made sure to straighten the building (made really vertical) in the background. This would have avoided the overall feeling of a left fall. |

Not convincing for this challenge, nice pix, black need more detail, whites too blown, good dof, interesting light, great texture, overall nice |

Hmm, is that you, KD? Love the starkness of this but maybe just a touch too bright for my eyeballs. |

There is hardly any use of DOF in this shot. It is a very nice one, just I don't think it fits this challenge. |

interesting subject. the border right on his back feels a bit too tight to me. your contrast choice, though powerful, has lost details which would have improved this image |

I like the tall frame and the sideview of the subject. a bit over-contrasted maybe. but this still is very nice. |

Nice picture - I like the positioning of your main subject in the foreground and then the rest of the crowd being part of the background. Glad you didn't opt for too shallow a DOF as you'd lose all that interest from the background. Lighting is too harsh and contrast too high for my preferences. |

I like the edgy high contrast feel, but it seems you may have pushed it a little too far and blown out some of your highlights. |

i like it thoroughly. 'tis a sigh of relief from much of the rest of this junk. it'd be a damn shame if you didn't get in the top 10. |

I really like the urban sense and the high contrast, but I don't see the narrow DOF. |

The challenge asked for a person to be singled out in a crowd using shallow depth of field. This is more of a typical candid .. which I happen to like immensley. |

I really like the picture but... even the girls that are probably 25 feet awa look like they are in focus. I was hoping to see a stronger separation of the subjects by controlling depth of field. |
