Actually it does resemble a painting since you mentioned it! Great picture!

This is my sister, I am very thankful that she was willing to model for me. She had a beautiful baby boy just a few hours before voting started on thursday night. I want to thank everybody for the best set of comments I have ever gotten, made for a wonderful week.

Great photo. I love the colors, the softness -- it is so feminine and beautiful. Pregnancy is something to cherish and admire -- and you've captured that here.

Lots of curves and form to explore. The mostly dark left side seems an opportunity lost. A different angle or more lighting on the back would have worked better for me. Good luck.

jeez.. I looked like this more at 6 months! either this model is carrying small, or is not 9 months along! LOL
Anyway.. back to photography..
I think the pose is not as dramatic as it could be. It is more documentary than expressive. I think maternity portraits should be more expressive. The lighting is beautifully done, and the soft focus - though a bit too soft - is a good choice too.

Nice effect - I love pregnant women.

your backlight is alittle bright I think - exposure is a little hot on the right, which causes the shadows to eat a bit too much of the form on the left. Did you do some editing along her back? the texture of the backdrop looks off (my guess is dodging some shadows?). Great idea, and nice composition.

Oh the beauty of pregnancy.
The rear seems a bit... lumpy. I'm not saying this to be rude, I think it's the position of the photographer.
If I could vote I'd give it a 9.

I like the soft lighting. I think the photo should be cropped just below the hand. I also think showing her face would be better if she felt comfortable with it. Good work and good luck in the challenge.

I have been partial to nude/pregnant photographs since Demi Moore did Haper's Bazaar. But ( you knew there would be one :-D) the haze in this shot is distracting. It's still a gorgeous photograph, just too hazy for my taste.

This is a wonderful piece of art which has been adjusted beautifully. I would be interested to know what has been done for the effect that you have going here. I would have rated it much higher if the detail had not have been lost on the back due to her shadows. The viewer is left guessing what is going on from her butt down and, at first, it is very un-flattering until you can figure out where her other leg is.

Wow, a beautiful pregnant woman. I so hoped to see one of these in this challenge! And it's tough to find a pregnant woman to pose! And if this is your wife, congratulations to the both of you for the wonderful thing happening to you. About the photo itself: very good choice of color. Excellent softness in the photo (I suspect a diffuse glow in photoshop). Nice lighting on the belly and breast. Nice dark area on the left. The thing that doesn't for me with this photo is the straight shot and composition. I feel this photo, as it is, would have worked a lot better by cropping a lot closer to the body and putting emphasis on the belly, breast, hair and the leg at the bottom right. Or perhaps just cropping some of the left area of the photo. It's a nice photo, but it's missing that "something" to make it great. Very nice try though! 6
