Thank you for all the comments and votes.
It is good to see this photo so high rated. On the other hand it is not good at all to see people like this old woman.
I know that it is almost impossible to help all the lonely and homeless humans. But at least I will never ignore them when passing nearby.
As photography has the power to make us more sensitive, I hope to use this power effectively in my life.

Very powerful image here - perspective is fantastic. Black and white treatment works well.

Limited color range and low-angle framing work well with this evocative shot.

This is sooo powerful. 'Down here and alone amongst all these legs'. And she is well contrasted against all the emptiness in front of her. And the passers-by seem to be giving her a wide berth.

I very rarely and pictures to me favourites ...

good take on the challenge to single someone out by the "level" they're on. In this case, ground level. She's really not so different than the people around her, who also seem to be dissolving into what they're wearing and what they're carrying. 9.

DOF isolation is not used sufficiently in this picture. Composition-wise, I don't think cutting off the heads of the other people was a good idea. Perhaps leave only the legs, or include them entirely. This is a difficult subject, and you need to be careful photographing it.

This is a GREAT photo. Excellent cropping. I like the faceless crowd around this poor soul.

This picture is the one of the many that I think really pinged in black and white, well done on that choice. I would have liked the crop to have the lady more on thirds than she is .. I think this would have helped with the focus being on her and not on the legs so much.

Unlike most of the B&W entries, I believe this one works with it.

Just WOW !!!!! I love this photo. It's so strong. You picked the least likely...little homeless person to really stand out in your photo. The subject sitting in thirds and the other sujbects legs...PERFECT....WOW ! 10
