Yes, it really does work........ i like what you did..... the blue that i didn't notice in the background has now become an irritant... grin.,..the tighter cropping is better as well..... reshooting might not be an option as Fiona had help from Angus and Seanmus in ruining that boa......and she has also figured out that no bird is buried under the feathers...... Seanmus is that cat I pose a lot... He is a total ham....... thanks again and please check back as I am going to have a marathon session of reworking my photos according to the wonderful suggestions I recieve in here .... have a great weekend..... 10 min edit -
messed the 'left' (cat's right) eye up a little trying to fix the colors, don't look too closely
good luck if you reshoot |

I really think that your comments are excellent macro...... I did try some of them out and will work on it more... Fiona is on the floor and this wasn't a set up shot - she raided my boa that I had for halloween lol...... mind you I got about 10 shots of her that make me smile.. I will post my edit and also, I would really appreciate it if you took a shot at cropping it as you think it should me... thanks! |

Like the potential here. The colors in this are nice. I think that this shot would be even better taken at a sharper (ground level/up) angle/perspective, allowing the feathers to create a pseudo framing at the bottom especially. Trying to either eliminate the background (which detracts in my opinion) &/or possibly even trying to place more of the feathers 'behind' (or use a similar or complementary color) in the background and sharper on the cat's face (especially eyes/nose) would have made this a much better shot in my opinion. Even this 'as is' with a nudge rotation up on the right and a crop variation (especially at the top) would likely be even better, again, in my opinion. edit:typo

This is an awesome shot! What a pretty kitty! I love your choice of colors here because it brings out the blue in the gray of the cat's coat. Nice work! |

Great cat shot. I love the details in the fur and feathers. Great use of depth of field. |
