Otherwise known as Beer-Butt Chicken in some parts, this is one of our favorite dinners on the grill. The liquid from the 1/2 full beer can (you have to DRINK the first 1/2) keeps the chicken moist during grilling. The Weber Grill cookbook has several spice recipes for coating before cooking.

there is too much going on in the background taking the focus away from the birds. There is also a very harsh overhead light on the top of the chickens

We call this Beer butt chicken and yours looks great. Maybe a little to dark ing the lower right corner. would like to see more focus on the chicken.

Nice white balance and clarity, but the lighting seems a bit harsh from the left.

LOL - I know that people really do this - I've never tried it - it makes me laugh everytime I look at it. LOL. Good lighting and focus. LOL.

I like the subject, but think the background items (saucepan plates utensils etc) are distracting

Coro is fine and the composition would be good if the big pan behind the chickens were removed. It makes the composition look crowded. The rest of the background is great. Lightin is a bit harsh as can be seen on the top of the chickens. USM is a bit too strong... the seasoning on the chickens is oversharpened, there is haloing most visible in the background lines and the there are "jaggies" along many straight lines and on some curves.

I have heard this is really good prepared this way. Not a very appetizing image as it exists now. I think it would have been better without the background items also vying for the attention of the eye.

Could use more light up front and less on top. Looks tasty.

Yummy. I think the picture would have been better on a counter or table though instead of the stove. The pot and stuff in the background is distracting and takes away from the chicken.

Somewhat over saturated? I like it but the overall coloring (lack of) presents a stark image. 6

Not something I'm familiar with - yet.
Nice sharp pic, may have benefitted from more light from lower right

Does that work, sodomizing the corpses of chicken? Does it taste good?
01/12/2006 08:10:05 AM
Lighting is harsh, would be better with less clutter in the background, maybe on a grill instead of a stove top.

I love the fact that it's set in a kitchen, rather than set up for presentation. Nice work.

I like the background. I like the angle you used. I like that there are two chickens in the shot, one would not have made the same impact.

The best way to cook it! Not sure about the composition of it all though. IT struggles a bit to me.

That's funny. I just saw a recipe book for this today. Lighting is overdone. I know the stove is a tough spot to get good light.
