 Beer Batter Fried Chicken-

2 ½ to 3 ½ lb. (1,2 to 1,6 kg) chicken, cut into 8 pieces
4 c. (1 L) water
Vegetable Oil

Batter-

1 c. (250 mL) all-purpose flour
1 ½ tsp. (7 mL) baking powder
1 tsp. (5 mL) salt
2 tbsp. (30 mL) chili powder
1 tsp. (5 mL) cumin
½ tsp. (2 mL) cayenne pepper
½ tsp. (2 mL) pepper
1 egg white
¾ c. (200 mL) beer

In Dutch oven, combine chicken and water. Cover; cook over med. High heat, stirring occasionally, until water comes to a full boil (20 to 25 min.). Reduce heat to med. Cook for 20 min. Drain; pat dry. In deep-fryer or 3-qt. (3-L) saucepan heat 2” (5cm) of oil to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). In medium bowl combine all batter ingredients except egg white and beer. In small mixer bowl beat egg white at med. Speed until stiff (2 to 3 min) ; set aside. Stir beer into flour mixture; fold in egg white. Dip chicken into batter; place in hot oil. Fry until golden brown (2 to 3 min. on each side). Remove from oil; drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining chicken.

the red and white cloth is a nice touch, the beer looks a little strange - would have been better if it were very clear and not cropped off on the top - a very nice image though - looks like something out of "Country Cooking" or something - good job :)

Looks like a great dinner. Well lit. good focus. Could be on a cover of a food magazine, back a second time and bumping up the score

A very, very nice composition. The warm colors work very well and not a hint of image hots spots anywhere. Very good job. Looks deliciously manly.

Great follow through on the idea, with the beer and the bread. Very appetizing. The only thing that gives me pause is the clash of the napkin and the tablecloth, but maybe that was sort of intentional. Home-cookin kind of shot.

The top of the beer glass really needed to be included, other than that great shot. The lighting is spot on

Technically very nice, choice of colors and backgrouns is good. Appealing lighting. Compsosition is a little off being that the bread is compteting for attention because of its light color and sharing too much of the picture. 2 suggestions for improvment - 1) show more "basket" under the cloth and drop the bread down and diag. towards the center and 2) your beer looks flat, add a little pepsi to keep it fuzzy and darken it. Or try a darker beer. :)

Bumping up for voting tweaking.

lacks a strong focal point, maybe if i could see to top of the beer glass.
