 It's like they say in real estate. Location, Location, Location. This past year I was lucky to take a vacation both in beautiful Maine and in Switzerland. Unfortunately, I don't live near such beautiful scenery so I only get to do shots like this once or twice a year! Fortunately, that gives me about 12 months to work my way through the thousands of shots I take when I'm on vacation!

Thank you all for the kind words and votes. It's an honor to be in the top 10 with such a fine set of photographs.

This shot was taken on the very scenic train ride from Zermatt to Geneva (on our way to Geneva to fly home the next day, about 4 hours by train). It was such a perfect day out with blue skies and tremendously rich and beautiful clouds, that I was shooting the whole ride! It was shot through glass but with a polarizer.

Great exposure. May be some vignetting in top right or could have been from the window. I would like to go there and I would love to have taken this shot.

Beautiful, Neil! I wonder how it would have looked in black and white? I like the colorful sky, but I don't particularly like the dull colors in the foreground. The composition is quite dynamic and I like the nice sense asymmetrical balance. Congrats on placing in the top 10 in such a competitive contest.
