Challenge: Backlighting II (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon PowerShot SD300
Location: Santa Ynez, CA Koehler Winery
Date: Jan 7, 2006
Aperture: 4.9
ISO: na
Shutter: 1/40
Date Uploaded: Jan 8, 2006

This was taken Saturday in the Santa Ynez valley, just outside of Santa Barbara at Koehler winery. I was holding the glass up to the background just to look at the wine, pretending I know anything about wine when I realized that this was perfect for the contest. the only camera i had was my little canon sd300 in my pocket, but i think it turned out well. i was having a tough time holding the glass and the camera still, i wonder if the wine tasting had anything to do with it???? Hope you enjoy

Great concept, and the warm tones are very nice, but the focus is going to hurt you here.

Outstanding focus and light. I would crop even closer and lose the actual wine in the bottom of the glass.

I really like the idea. The fingerprints (at least that's what I think they are) on the glass are distracting, and I think I'd prefer the wine to be in focus, or not have bubbles maybe. But that's just me...

This is an interesting image, my problems are limited but do really affect my scoring here. There are marks all over the glass, there are also fingerprint imprints showing through. The dribble line in the middle of the glass doesn't give a pleasent visual, and although sharp in focus the picture seems to have lost its crispness. 4.

perhaps if the writing on the glass was the right way around it would have been better, but nice shot

Are those fingerprints right in the middle? Nice legs.
