I've got to thank great photographers that continue to inspire me. I saw something with I've wanted to try something like this for a long time, it was far easier than I thought - even with the cooking/painting.

The meat was cooked slightly to brown it, then painted with Kitchen Bouquet to make it dark. Then coated the stuff on the fork with vegetable oil to make it shiny and yummy looking. Thanks to my wife who came in half way through the shoot and said just the right things to make me start thinking about what else we could do.

Hope you like it - had a ball shooting it.

Nice answer to the challenge. I like the way you've weighted the composition here and used DOF to add dimension to the shot. Color, detail, and focus look great.... 8

You eat sparklers? I don't see the point of the sparklers, I think they just make the whole photo look too busy and messy. The food was a nice idea, though, you have some good colors going with that.

Love sparklers! Used them in my last challenge "Mother". I'm sure I will use them again sometime. Nice touch!

I love the creativity of this one. Really nice job. I particularly like the composition with the kabob in the background.
