This is my first offical entry here at DP Challenge...I was working on photos for this challenge and none seemed to be working for me...that's when I decided to go into my bathroom and remove my make-up. I looked in the mirror for about 30 secs and said to myself, "If the camera is behind my head, then essentially I'll be "back-lit". After about ten shots, I finally found came across this one that worked after a quick crop and level adjust.

Very creative use of backlighting, what hurts you here is the lack of focus.

Your background is distracting and the flash burst and glare draws the eyes away from the subject which I wish were in focus. I like the way the light captures the texture of your hair - there's on good piece for the challenge. Setting a table lamp without its shade behind yourself and the camera on a tripod or table in fron of you would be a better start. A dark background, or at least a uniform one would emphasize the subject better.

I like the raw quality and the colors. You have used backlighting in such a blatent, irreverent way. Nice. 6.

He is a bit out of focus and the flash is very distracting however the girls at work say you should have illuminated him from behind and you would have got 10s for sure :)
