this one might very well be my favorite - it plays to the senses. |

Like the perspective of this shot. Lighting is excellent. It lacks the usual digital defects often seen in DPC images. Generally speaking the focused area on an image attracts the eye. In this case it is drawn to the word "KitchenAid" moreso than the cookie dough. Most voters will see that word is not level and that it draws attention away from the food part of the image and vote it lower as a result. |

I like the slow shutter speed to ad drama to the mixer |

I would have rather seen the dough than the KitchenAid logo. |

It's certainly a different view than the rest of the pictures. My honest opinion for this shot is that you probably focused too much on the machine. I think you've over sharpened as well. If you could have changed your focus to the dough and used 1/600 sec. shutter speed (I think), it would have been fabulous to me. The composition itself is alright, but what really lost points was the appeallingness of the shot. Personally, I think shot with a contrast in colouration looks fantastic and gives an extra "wow" factor that normally leaves a pretty good first impression. I might be no expert, but lighting-wise, you could have worked more on it. So the way you've presented this, makes it feel more like a challenge for machinery rather than food because of the focus. Oh and that bit of clue stick at the bottom of the bowl is also a bit distracting to the whole concept of the picture. So all in all, a 6. |

Interesting and creative angle on this shot. The focus seems to be primarily on the portion of the mixer with the brand name, though for my tastes I would have preferred to see the focus on the contents of the bowl! Lighting looks pretty good and I like the composition of the photo overall. |

I think your choice of focus kind of makes this look more like an advertisement than a "recipe shot." Also, the dough doesn't look terribly appetizing to me (though, I suppose, it's not necessary that it look so). |

Yes indeed. Revere the Kitchen Aid. And that's a nice vintage one, it looks like. |

You should have focused on the cookie dough instead of the mixer. |

IMO the focus should've been on the ingrediants in the bowl not the mixer. I'd rather see the cookies than the dough. As far as the picture goes, The focus seems a tad off |

Cookies maybe, but the mixer is what's in focus. |

I think a wider DOF would work better. |
