My mother told me when I was little that an artist who could draw an egg perfectly and all it's shadows could draw anything. I wonder if that goes for photography to.

Good idea, but not enough contrast - the egg gets lost in the background - and the shadows are not quite strong enough

Good halftones. Holding all the detaail is such a white environment is hard work

This is a great setup, but the shadows are so strong that they detract from the egg shape rather than reinforcing it. Perhaps softer or more diffuse lighting? Perhaps shooting from a different angle to minimize the shapes of the shadows and thus emphasize the shape of the egg?

I like the patterns made by the shadows.

Nice shadows with 3 light sources, but just too blown out. Probably easily be rescued with level adjustment and slight crop.

This would have been an incredible pic but there was too much lighting. Looks like 4 separate lights that have almost completely removed the shape and texture from the egg. A shadow cast on the egg would have been perfect. However, this will probably bring low scores. 4

I like this but I think I would have liked it even better with stronger lighting i.e darker shaddows... 6

Wow! Cool idea. Like the use of three different light sources.

I don't normally like borders, but this one picks up the tone of the shadows quite well. I like the way the lighting was used to throw the differently-toned shadows, but the slight grain to the background and the dust at the lower right edge keep distracting me.
