I like the feeling of "city" in this shot and black and white works. I don't care for the motion blur of the cars though. 6 |

A nice photograph. I wonder if a bit more contrast would have made this better. I see too much of a neutral grey which lessens it's impact. |

Great use of lines and the vanishing point. I love how the buildings have such repitition in them, and that crooked line of parked cars! Well done. |

I like the motion blure and perspective down the street but somehow the domination of the buildings seems a bit stifling to me |

I like this. I guess it's the combination of the powerful vanishing point with the motion blur of the cars in the foreground. Or maybe it's the perspective grid formed by all those windows and mouldings on the buildings. Either way, or even both ways, there's something satisfying and evocative about it. It says 'city life' for me, even though visible people are pretty scarce. If fact, the scarcity of people actually seems to add to the impact. And so does the unusual point-of-view; not street level, but not rooftop level either. And from part-way across the street, too. Lots of interest and lots to get the viewer involved. |

Very cool! Was this taken from an "L" (metro) platform - love the perspective. Great use of leading lines and motion blur as well. |

Interesting. I like the black and white, and the composition. I might have liked it with the motion frozen with a faster shutter speed however; although I do understand why you might have chosen a slower speed to represent the "motion" of life. |

I for one love good use of blur and I like it here. Actually more auto activity might have even been better. Nice job. |

Challenge
- Relevant to the Challenge? Yes
- Is subject unique (vs. unoriginal or rehashed)? Yes
Compostion
- Good or Bad? How can it be fixed? Good, however the line of cars parked on the left is a bit distracting since they are not straight. I'm curios where you were that you could get a shot from 30 feet above street level. If it were a 'bridge' I'd think the opposite side of the strret would work bettter.
- Is there anything missing? More liveliness. It has a very lonely feel to it with the blurred cars speeding away. Maybe that's what you were going for.
- Good use of Depth of Field? Yes
Lighting
- Good use of light? Yes
- Are there any over-blown highlights? No
- Are there any overly dark shadows? No
Aesthetics/Artistic Appeal:
- What is my reaction or feelings? As I said it feels very lonely. Not quite my sense of Citylife, but overall I like the image. |
