Challenge: City Life II (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT

Location: san francisco

Taken on a wet, soggy New Year's Day in South Park, San Francisco, CA. This scene delighted me with it's strong welcome and equally strong "don't park here" signs along with the flamboyant pink facade.

Post processing was minimal. Crop, try to straighten the sides with "Transform > distort" and sharpen.

Kind of self defeating.

Good find! I like the contradictions in the signs.I am sure you know this by now but, you forgot to crop after straightening! (At least that's how I presume this got such an unusual border!) Nice anyway!

The cropping takes depth away. For me, the eyes just hit (boom!) an abrupt wall.

No pink and big signs for me. Ugh.

It looks like you rotated the photo clockwise slightly but then didn't re-crop. Was this a conscious decision? It makes the photo feel crooked, even if it is now straight (hard to say).

Great colors, and the touch of humour is welcome. The white on left and bottom looks suspiciously like exposed image canvas after a rotate, forgot to crop? Still a 7

Shocking pink color with the red, but a good image all the same...

Looks almost like a doll house with the colors and blue details on the bottom of the doors. Glad you added that title... I didn't pick up on the irony right away. Nice job!

Yes - it is contradictions such as this that often define life in the city. Parking and access are subjects more important, in a very practical sense, than seasonal goodwill to fellow man. And there's really nothing insincere or hypocritical about that; it's just a fact of life in the city. Well done - it's a fine and thoughtful take on the challenge.

The color is perfect. I think this photo would be better if the ground was cropped out of the photo, it takes a lot away from the photo. Still a 6

love the color and framing... it doesn't say Big City to me... which a lot of shots are going for... but I'm not going to DNMC ya on this ... good work.
