comp needs work, b&w need work, color not interesting, dof ok, crop needs work, overall I'm sure you could do better

A single lightning strike like this, while it is a great capture, makes for a boring picture. More strikes, part of the landscape and cloud definition would add interest.

Humm, actually if lightening strikes at some place there is high probablity that it will strike there again (there is some science behind this reasoning), so if you happen to live at such place consider moving. I have seen a story about a guy who survived 3 lightening at his home on discovery chanel(there they explained why lightening strikes at same place again and again).

To me there seems to be too much wasted space here. Perhaps a closer crop would increase the impact of the lightning.

I know lightning shots are hard cause it's super random, but the frameing is not helping and the second lightning bolt, is that due to a lack of focus???

Is this the most interesting thing you have seen during an entire year? I'm sorry.

It would have been thousands of times better if it were framed better, I don't like how it is just at the bottom of the pic. Better placement would have given this photo a much higher score.

Good idea to leave the tree/bush top to show you didn't move the camera. Too bad you didn't get the land as well. Very good example of ribbon lightning!

Looks blurry, as if there were some camera movement during a long exposure. Also a lot of grain.

An extra point for the degree of difficulty capturing this.
