| I love your picture. I reminds me of a painting in the Czech National Gallery, a 16th century nursing Madonna... not one of those horrible stylized monstrosities, but a peasant girl nursing a real child... painted at the time the child just falls asleep. It is my favorite image... yours has risen to a close second. |

| Very beautiful photo. There is so much love radiating from your expression, and I think it captures an emotive example of motherhood. As for the technical aspects, I think that high-key works very well for this shot, and all the skin tones are really nice and soft. The composition is excellent, and everything is in nice sharp focus. The plain white background is great since it leaves all the viewer's focus on the primary subjects. Wonderful job! |

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.
The critique I am doing is for "me as a mother" picture.
First Impression - the most important one:
my god, why did I draw this one, its great, its perfect .. she actually tells me the whole story of the picture!
Composition:
I like the composition of this shot. Black and white really did work, and I like the leading lines that go from your babies face to yours. You can tell that is one lucky wee man, cos his mum loves him.
Subject:
You can't really get a better choice of subject matter, as shown by eight of the top ten pictures.
Technical (Colour and light):
The use of contrast and lighting here is great. I also like the way the light plays on your hair.
To grow its vote?:
Do you need to grow the vote. Not this time really. This was a good scoring challenge, and you did score well.
Summary:
You have done some awesome work .. your portfolio really shows that.

| Great Photo. I love the way you did not lose any of the detail or clarity in the picture and gave it a great feel with the B&W and white balance. I give you kudos in being photographer, model..etc. I know how hard it is to get right with the addition of a leading man that may or may not be willing to co-operate..great job and congrats. |

To me there is no better way for a mother to give love to a child. I loved this and was hoping you would win the blue, but second is good too since I also had given the number one image a ten s well.
You did great and I am sure as your child grows older they will cherish this image.

I hoped this would do good and feared it wouldn't. This is the most natural bonding moment between child and mother but in this pc world it's some kinda taboo. Glad to see this shot achieve what this voter believes to be it's value!

| 7 - Nice and the toning works well here. Good composition and capture on 'Mother's' face. Criticism; mainly the 'blowing' on the Mother's hair, but very difficult I imagine to control, especially using this toning. Perhaps a variation in lighting may have helped. Having said that, it does add a certain element to this shot, but if it were a fraction more subtle, make this even better in my opinion. Perhaps a slightly tighter crop on the right, and more 'baby' on the left (dependent of course what you had to work with) may also have made this even better. |

Seems a light blown out on your hair a little bit and a tad too much gray... More contrast would have been nice. But otherwise a lovely photo.
Makes me remember the days... Enjoy them while they last... It passes in a blur.

| Generally speaking, I am not keen on b+w photos, nor on the high key approach. Yet here you have combined both and I love it, it works. Lighting, composition, Mom's facial expression..... everything comes together into one very beautiful photo. 9 |

| This is nice, but I think and this is only my opinion, but I think that sepia toning or even their actual skin tones would have worked better for this shot. To me its look metallic. I'm sorry I can't describe it any better. |

| very nice, definitelly fits the theme, I like the high key style, just wish the hair wasn't overexposed. A little softer lighting would help. i'm curious about what lighting you used in this photo. There is a little bit of harsh shadow accross the left face. |
