I love the look on that little face! I would like to have seen a wider tonal range, this feels very middle-key to me, and I am not a huge fan of that.

This gets a 9 from me. Wonderful expression on the child's face and unique composition with the mom's back to the camera. I think I can see burn marks around them on the wall - that's the only reason I'm not voting 10.

WOW! Perfect tonal range. I'm not really liking the composition but this shot is still getting an 8 from me for amazing detail, tones, and a great feeling of love and warmth. Well done!

Recommend bouncing the flash to eliminate the background shadows. Nice BW, though! 7

The subjects are a little to close to the background which is why there is that deep shadow behind the boy's head and the mom's ear. Her blinding white scrunchy is a bit distracting to me. The overall composition is good.
