Great character shot, conveys the theme well.

Not bad, although the lighting and shadows are disconcerting.

the car messes up the shot

This is a nice concept of city life but the photo just doesn't seem to grab me. = 6 - jmsetzler

nice character study

I like the subject, it fits the challenge, but something just doesn't work. I think cropping down to just the newspaper vendor, using fill flash or something to reflect some light onto his face would work wonders.

Excellent depiction of city life. Harsh contrasty light makes an emoitional impact for this man who has to sit here through all kinds of weather. A softer light may have made him look comfortable, which he must not be. The people around him show typical city detachment from him.

An awesome, intriguing subject, but I think the outer right and top parts of the image unnecessarily compete for my attention. I'd like this better if it were just a shot of the man and his stand. If you kept the building, I'd at least like to see a shot without the car coming into the shot.

A slight tilt problem... the BMW wheel is a bit distracting... I would've stood on my tippie toes too or moved over to get College Park more framed in.... that or kneeled down to remove it. I just think your composure could've been better here.

this is a nice city illustration.

Good challange entry. Would it have been possible to take this picture a little earlier or later in the day? It appears to be within two or three hours of midday when the light is harsh. I had the same problem with some of mine and had to throw away some good subjects.

I love this man. Great people shot! Doesn't seem as crisp as it should be. 7

The car is a little distracting.

Cute! Great image quality. I'm a little too shy to take photos of random people on the street. Well done!

he's no star.. he's a the news guy

Nice work would suggest working on composition a bit, but this is an okay shot..and it really is representive of city life. Kee

I can't say why, but I really like this shot. Maybe it's the 'sky blue' on the drab ground. If I were to suggest any change, it might be show more on the left side rather than cut off the stand. Of course I don't know what was there :)

Nice choice of subject, the blue works well against the stone background. Too much clutter in the background-the car, the pedestrians, the wires. I want this photo to be tranquil, expectant, but I'm restless. Perhaps tweaking the newstand directly vertical would help with this.

And someone told me that wal-mart greeter was an unstressful job. This guy has it covered, at least in the summer. The only detraction I have is that its slightly rotated to the left. Make sure that the camera in addition tot he tripod is level.

If he was standing up waving a paper around this would be a great shot.
