Greetings from the Critique Club. After reviewing your photo I have a few suggestions. But first let me tell you Welcome to the DPC family of challengers. I think as you go along you will learn alot and grow as a photographer. So lets start with the Critique.
Good crisp focus even if it was on the wrong thing according to your comments. Depth of field is also good. You must realize that the voters cant see your comments as they are voting, so its best to let the photo tell your story. Let it make the connection to the viewer to let your score rise up. Bright colors score well here, as well as good compostions and rules of thirds. Keep up the good work and keep shooting. |

I gave this a 2. I did try to look for an 'oops' in this for quite a while (half a minute, maybe = quite a while for the Challenge, usually), but the closest I could manage was the branch of leaves 'oopsed' onto the fencing, to be honest, I went with that and thought it could have been more 'creative'. The quality of the shot itself was good, basically that (and the 'interpretation' just mentioned) is/are why it didn't get a '1' from me. As for your 'intent' here, of the 'focal point', in my opinion, that's a long shot for a viewer to get here during voting on such a Challenge. Your title obviously tried to portray this as well, but again I didn't make the 'connection'. edit:removed temporary note/condensed

You did ok for your first try. I am also new here, and have found that learning this art takes time. I hope you stickaround and keep trying and learning. But always remember to have fun. |

Thanks guys - Shadowvengance, that wasn't quite the reasoning behind the picture, and I fully realized it would score low because it wasn't quite in line with the challenge. I just wanted to get my feet wet at DPC - I couldn't at first understand what people were talking about, 'needing their update fix' etc. After the last week, man, I _fully_ understand! I think I had the DPC home page open on my PC the entire week...

There is something wrong with the focus, and I don't see the oops part in the pic. |

I don't think this fits the challenge, but lets say it did...in order to score higher ou should isolate your subject a bit more. Assuming your subject is the leaves, pull in tighter on them and make sure at least they are in focus. |

Were you trying to get at that the leaf was supposed to fall on the ground but got stuck on a fence?
this wont do well, it wasn't blatantly obvious, voters = lazy.
good concept, i like the idea, you just need to find a more obvious way of conveying the meaning. its a bit blurry, you focused it on the fence, which is the main part of the conveying theme, but the other leafs were to close to the fence and it threw off the center of focus.
ill give you a 5 for effort, and good thinking. |

Sorry, but I don't quite see how this fits into the "oops" challenge. For me, it would hold more interest if the foreground leaves were in focus, rather than the leaf stems. |

Sorry, I don't get it. Looks like an out of focus shot of leaves. |
