Greetings from the Critique Club!...

COMPOSITION... The blurred motion of the needle easily conveys the feeling of speed, and so meets the challenge easily. Compositionally, it probably would have succeeded more if distracting elements were eliminated - namely the hand. The black space between fabric and machine may also be considered as distracting, but not sure what the image would look like if the fabric extended from where it is now to the machine (if shot from a higher angle).

TECHNIQUE... A histogram of the image reveals your image is undexposed. A levels adjustment can correct this. Otherwise, focus and sharpness is good.

I like your originality. You have shown the speed of your machine very well, and its a nicely executed shot too. 7

great idea and execution. i am torn between having fingers in the shot or not having them. not having them in the shot would help strengthen the subject through having less distractions. but having them in the shot helps add some realism. i guess its just a personal preference either way.

A little more motion shown in this one would've went a long way. I think the concept is very good and very original, but the portrayal of motion is too faint.

this is a well done shot, it definetly demonstrates speed!

I like the different approach. I think some interest could be added by pumping up the colors a bit.

Nice job. Like the motion you captured. Wish there was just a little more contrast. =-) 6

Different. Good.

Neat idea, and it meets the challenge. I do think the composition could of been improved. The fingers really don't add to the shot and a tighter focus on the foot would of drawn the eye.

nice subject... (has some specks in it?)
