 I've been eschewing color lately-

not so now!

a gradient map brought this to life and helped make up for a poor background exposure.

re: backslash's comment - what I think you're seeing as reflections are actually scratches. They were unplanned but, I thought, fortuitous, as I felt they helped emphasize the sharpness of the narrow DOF. Perhaps I oversharpened somewhat.

Others, thank you for commenting! This entry is better than my average score and also better than my last few, and so its performance is satisfying to me :)
