CRITIQUE CLUB COMMENT
Well done on a clever wordplay and a well set up and well executed photo. The combination of the wordplay and the execution makes this fun to look at. Overall it has scored pretty well.
Where could it have been improved?
The longer I looked at the picture, the more I felt that there was something (not easily defined) that didn't quite work. The best way I can describe it is that there is room for improvement in creating a more coherent overall mood for the picture. It's not clear whether the overall feeling should be eerie or a bit humorous. The darker, cold background and the dress of your 'model' suggests an eerie feel but the lighting in the foreground is far too bright to fit with an eerie feel. The model's expression also seems to be breaking into a smile - not eerie and not in keeping with the painful heels. But well in keeping with the clever word puns used.
I think this shot can be improved by a clear choice of the mood you want to create and ensuring that the lighting, composition and model's expression all fit in with whatever mood you have chosen.
A couple of minor niggles: the model's pose looks a bit unnatural and uncomfortable and most people would naturally tend to look at their feet when massaging them down rather than looking into the middle distance.
Overall: a clever play on words and clever execution. More coherence of overall 'mood' would have enhanced this picture substantially.
Looking at your portfolio, I see you continue to break into the top 10 positions. Well done. |

Returning for comment:
Interesting word play. Almost like when we reverse numbers. Very nice. |

I've been looking at this one for a while, and while I see the pun and the reason for reversing the words in the phrase, it seems like a bit of a stretch. I do think the picture can stand alone enough to tell a story though which is always good. |

Nice set up and good lighting... maybe isolate the subject against the wall without the view of the trees, etc. to help create a stronger image. |

It's a very well taken phot, it's just that I expected a topic about puns to be a bit nore humourous. |

I like this very much. Clever use of words and image works so well and would be a cool shot all by itself. I like the blue of the snowy area behind the woman. Nicely done!!!! |
