Gave this a 6. I liked the colors (including the use of them against the black) but the middle candle was 'out of synch' and other minor balance/cropping details overall kept this shot from being 'more' in my opinion.

The photo itself seems to be lacking something that draws me in and holds my attention. Since I am not a religious person, I can share no personal feelings/opinions of the photo. The main subject seems to be the candles, which is good for the challenge, but the glass in the back is too out of focus to really add to the photo. If it had been in focus, then I think the attention would be taken away from the candles, so you made a good choice, but in this case, I find the glass more of a distraction.
Focus on the candles is good. No complaints there. Color is good. Technically, it's an alright photo, just not something I'm drawn to.
Hope this helps. ~Heather~

I skipped this challenge, but in looking at the placments it seems that simplicity was rewarded, and a total focus on the candle and the light it produces. Much of the impact of this shot is generated by the stained glass windows in contrast to the color of the candle and it's warm light. I would bet it would have scored higher had you eliminated everything not lit by the candles.

I gave it a 6...

In looking at it, I think it would have done better if you removed the middle candle and had just the two candles interspersed amongst the stained glass.

A deeper DOF might have done well too.

well- I think it needs more compositionally. it's such an indspiring background but the candles cover them up. they need to add, not diminish. I think if you had them set up below the stained glass it might have worked better for ya. well- no zeros! hey I always seem to have a few of those!!! I like the idea a lot :0)

Nice job. The candle on the left appears to be falling in slightly but really not a big deal. The exposure worked well to make sure the flame isn't overexposed and still has the color tones and detail...good job. Your DOF is very nice and gets your attention without totally pulling it away from the candles. Good luck.

nicely done. I would have liked for the stained glass to be either totally in focus, or more out of focus, because it is a bit distracting as it is. :)

Nicely done. This is usually what I associate candles with. Love the colors.

Nice candlelight. The one in the center gets lost in the stained glass.

Three candles lost in front of an enormous source of light which is the stained glass.
