CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

I think you definitely meet the challenge on this, so that said, on to the picture.

The colors in this are outstanding. They are brilliant, yet not oversaturated, and the green vs. red vs. blue sets up some nice contrast. The focus is okay, though it does not seem to be completely uniform throughout the picture. The strawberries seem for the most part very crisp and clear, but around the edges, and the berry in the middle are a little soft.

The composition is a little weak in my opinion. Though it has a random look, which I think is good, it seems a bit jumbled. The eye has no one place to rest, but rather goes from spot to spot. Maybe this would be a case where less was more. Perhaps one blackberry in a pile of strawberries would add some interest. Or vice versa. A bowl of blue berries, with one big ole' strawberry in the middle.

I tried something like this myself. The lighting creates some glare and washes out the colors a bit.

The stems on the strawberries do not look appetizing. They look old. It doesn't help the image...

I like your idea. I don't like the focus, this is not crisp or sharp. The color is good and the light is okay. Great idea.
