Greetings from the Critique Club
Hello. This is your first Challenge and you have done well. You have a strong image here and one that, in my opinion, meets the Challenge well. It is well photographed, for the most part, and the composition is beautiful. And you have an understanding mother to allow you to photograph her at such an early hour of the day.
I think you know the area around the model's nose is 'hot' but you couldn't do much about it with Basic Editing. The remainder of the technicals, to me, are just fine.
For some reason - and it happens - our voters sometimes overlook a good image. I think they did so with this one.

| Doesn't really say 4:00-5:00am to me. Why is she awake? She doesn't look like she's just woken up or is about to go to sleep. Highlights on nose are burnt out and the shallow dof doesn't work for me here. |

| I suppose that many a mother would display a dark side at such an early hour. I am in awe of your composition. I am especially impressed with your subject as eye with no unwanted reflections. Great. 9 |

| your mothers nose is too much in the picture... and it dividesthe darkness to the light this picture need more work.... if i offended you i apologize |

| Hmmm, I don't think I'd want to cross your Mom based on this photo. Good, tight closeup though. I especially like the eye. |

| You mother let you get he up that early? No wonder she lookes peeved. I do like the light flows through her eye to reflect from the inside. |
