I had a choice between a "Candle in the wind" entry that I liked, or this one. (Hence the background in this photo, because this was another try at a candle in the wind concept. So I had it outside my window with the forest as a backdrop. My downfall in the scores will most likely come from that backdrop being too dark, but an anomoly is rare as it is, and only so much I can change). ANYWAY, once I could see what looked like a little child in the reflection of the wax, (looking like it had both arms out stretched with hands to the flame wick, as if pushing the fire outwards) I thought entering a thought provoking photo would be interesting to see how the voters react. It can't be any worse then some of my entries or comments and scores..LOL..so why not. I'm sure at least a few will see what I see.

I am assuming the shadow of the flame and candle edges caused this odd anomoly that at least I can see, if no one else does..LOL. Like others can make out figures or imagine them in water drops, flames, clouds, etc, I too seemed to have made out this lil` flame throwing child in the wax. Hope you like it :)

A very nice image but with the short span time that voters spend, the beauty of it will be missed by many.

Well, what happened was I was taking different shots using all types of candles. One was in a flat can. Never used. I wanted to take a straight-down shot of it. Of course, with my point and shoot, that meant getting in close for any effect. When I did, my hair started to smoke, but I kept on shooting! LOL....I patted my head before any flames began to shoot from the top of my head, and could just feel the frizzle from it. Needless to say, I didn't use that shot...LOL. I was a bit frazzled with it, and just disgarded it. I used this anomoly wondering how the reaction would be. It was mixed, but I am still happy with it. I love catching things that I may see, and see if others can as well.

Thanks for asking!

Ok, I have to know... how did your hair catch on fire for this one?

at first I thought you forgot to rotate this image but the title tells me it is supposed to be flying in the air but the lack of motion doesn't portray this very well. The subject is sharp and well focused.

Nice reflection of the child! The background looks just a bit out of place for this but nice dof.

That's clever! I almost didn't catch it, though, and wouldn't have without the title.
