I recently found my favorite pocket knife. I thought I'd lost it, but it's been in my golf bag for the last two years or so...

This should have been titled Two Inch Blade, but I wasn't looking at it when I submitted the photo... Duh...

Hmm, I don't think it's bad at all. It looks like the voters didn't love it or hate it (as evidenced by the ton of 5 votes). Technically it is quite sound. Good lighting, nice background (although it looks noisy, I guess from the ISO 1000), and sharp subject. In the end, I think it has only limited potential as an abstract. We grasp it quickly and move on. It is neither mysterious (we know what it is), nor does it captivate with pattern or design (it's too simple). This is probably what limited your score in the end.

I would like to see more of the blade in focus.

Less is more. However, I think it needs something to make it really interesting.

Very nice, love the background, really brings out the subject and adds to the sharpness.

I guess I'm looking at a knife point, but so much of the picture is out of focus, that it's hard to tell. What, exactly, am I looking at?
