In this case you set this shot up very well. I believe that you would have placed higher if you had used more DOF with this shot since the handle of the fork is out of focus. Technically you did a great job with this entry. I believe that if a shot is set up like this one was the lighting should be perfect, you used an overhead light that was very bright causing a strong reflections from the fork and deep shadows.
Since lighting is a major part of a photo, I recommend that you consider using a soft box for this kind of entry in the future. A soft box will help eliminate the harsh reflections and add some depth to your entry.
All and all I believe that you did a good job with this entry and look forward to seeing more of your work. |

Nice trick. Although I do think the lightning should have been even softer, the shadows are bit distracting. |
