 literally walked about 10 steps from my front door and took this. no set up, just as i found it. don'tcha think it looks like a heart? or is it just me? :)

healed a few dark spots on the leaf, gaussian blur, hue/sat with colorize, resize, sharpen.

Oh yes, this was a nice one. Gave it a 7. Good dof and the orange/red works so well with the background. Give nature some lovin and you get a whole lotta lovin back. :)

nice shot. a bit of dark haloing is evident on the top portion of the leaf. Was this a gradient blur? The amount of blur as you go deeper doesn't match the leaf. If not gradient blur, maybe a lense baby or tilt/shift??

Love the contrast in colors and textures. Great focus. I'm not usually a big fan of grain, but I think it works here. I think it would be a great shot without it as well.

The strength of this composition lies in the textures present. The lines and grain of the wood convey thoughts of great age/weathered time as well as present us with an image that we can "feel" with the eyes. We can feel the rough texture of the weathered wood. A splash of color in the red/yellow leaf adds interest. I really like how you can see all the details in the lines and textures of the leaf which pairs nicely with our observance of the textures in the wood.

This is so simple, but in combination with the title, it totally ROCKS for me. I love the texture and the graininess of the wood. The fine detail of the veining of the leaf is beautiful. WOW 9
