I like the imagery in this photo. Both play and work. A couple comments... if only the camera was level and not tilted to the right, it wouldn't feel the picture is falling over. And it looks a little over-processed to me in the tree leaves... maybe it is just an artifact of the down-sizing for web display. Nice composition though.

Straighten your horizons!!!! Ruins an otherwise lovely shot. I love the bright green grass and the fog.

Not sure if it was intended but your horizon is leaning down to the right by a few degrees. Makes the tyre swing look strange as it's not hanging straight down.

straighten it

This picture catches my attention. My initial reaction when it loaded was "country summer?" How so?

Upon looking again, the mobile irrigation system in the background sets the rural tone. Growing up in south and traveling to see family in south Georgia or vacationing in Florida I have often seen settings so close to this in the dry, hot southern Georgia peanut, cotton or soybean fields that this image evokes memories.
The tire swing in focus in the foreground threw me at the start but for anyone that's endured a hot summer here in the south, the only thing missing from this photo is the gnats.

Technically I would like the see it cropped a little smaller with a little less grass in the foreground but your composition and editing are very good.

Lovely scene and perfect colour. It wouldn`t have taken much effort to straighten up in photoshop or similar program. You will be marked down for this which is a shame.6

Beautiful shot...but seems off level? thanks

Because it has country in it does not mean it conveys country life
06/27/2003 11:44:55 AM
Nice contrast of lifestyle. Shame the lighting's not better and pic is quite tilted to the right.
06/27/2003 10:29:34 AM
Nice shot, this one needs to be rotated a shade CCW to look "right". Our eyes expect pendulums to be up and down, and the tire hanging in the center of the picture clearly is off. The rope should be hanging straight down, as it would in real life.

The poor swing looks lonley with nobody to play on it.
06/26/2003 09:29:14 PM
If you could have rotated the shot just about 1 degree Counterclockwise It would have felt even better
06/25/2003 10:46:31 PM
Man, this is so far titled to the right, I'm going to fall off of my chair I think. :) It's amazing to me how such a great shot like this can be ruined because it's tilted and the photographer didn't even notice this basic thing!!!! 6. (if not tilted, an 8 or 9).
06/25/2003 08:36:59 PM
Is the photo deliberately rotated? It's a little bit offputting. Other than that it's a nice combination of work and play.
06/25/2003 07:58:34 PM
I do not believe the irrigation equipment help this photo. Could you have rotated the photo 1 degree or 2 so as to make the tree swing hang correctly (or was it moving?).
06/25/2003 03:07:09 PM
if only tires coud talk... id bet the ones in the background would be pretty jealous.. hah.
06/25/2003 02:05:32 PM
Nice country look. Seem's a little lopsided though or are my eyes playing tricks on me. 6
06/25/2003 06:46:30 AM
wow.. nice idea.. but.. the background is so distracting.. it would be very nice to have another background.
06/25/2003 04:54:08 AM
I think you should have straightened this up a little, everything is leaning to the right! good luck, Todd.
