Face In the Crowd
by Jeff Sasek:

There is no expression
for love or hate
With a stoic concession
to ease his fate
He wears a tag, a number
Is that all he is?
Just another horse I wonder
to conform to this
His life, his mother, his kin
all gone, no goodbyes
Is he to pay for a single sin
as tears roll from his eyes
Now he moans and groans
but not out loud
for he is scared and alone
just another face in the crowd.

Very interesting shot. Busy almost to the point of "too much", but manages to organize itself with the focus on the main character. Very nice presentation.

Jeff's poem brings a lump to my throat, so true, which is why I have so many horses, I just cant bear for them to be in this position, scared, confused and alone. Do you still have contact with Jeff? He wrote the most beautiful poems.
