Textures and lighting is interesting, but I think I'd shoot it from a bit of a different angle.

The ginkgo is the oldest living tree species, records reveal it has been growing on earth for 150 million years. Chinese monks are credited with keeping the tree in existence as a sacred herb. Good work and good luck on this preserving image showing its intricacy and beauty. -8-

love the warmth of the light gives the entire image a softness that works well with the subject (not saying its not sharp - it is - different softness:)) Great study with great texture and depth. 8 - good luck in the challenge!

Lovely composition. Color looks oversaturated to me. Less would enhance the wondrful texture in this shot more, I think
