Even though there are a lot of things in the shot the football still grabs the focus and you catching the goal line marker allows the story to unfold. Also, looks like the ref is calling it a catch.

I like this photo a lot. The poses, and the expressions on people's faces are great. And that's an awesome lens that guy's got.

I probably would have cropped this a bit tighter to just include the receiver and some of the goal marker. The rest doesn't really add a lot to the shot, IMO... the receiver IS the story here.
