Lovely detail in the bill of the swan. Wish the image would have contained the rest of the beak just for visual continuity. Then, the bill could really claim the spotlight. Right now, it seems that the space behind the swan is the focus because it is framed by parts of swan, instead of whole sections of swan.
Looks like it was a great day go to out shooting some pictures! You've got some great light to work with here! |

I really like the unorthodox crop this has going on. Great color too. My main issue actually lies with focus & lighting in this shot - especially on the swan's neck. You seem to lose both in the neck, where a main portion of both the lines (and viewers' eyes) are drawn. I think when you're going for something as "against the grain" (so to speak) as this is, you really have to nail it, or it doesn't really work. That being said, I think it's the focus & indistinguishable highlights on the neck that prevent this image from really being a glowing success. (And don't get me wrong - I really like the idea and where you're going with it - and you're ALMOST there!)

I like shots like this. I wouldn't fill my portfolio with them but I like some "different" takes on the ordinary.

Guess my monitor isn't as clear as Travis99, because I don't see the noise, just ice. This one is almost abstract with some interesting lines for the eye to follow. Makes me want to touch the feathers. |

They are all quick edits. There is no crop here, straight from camera. Was quite close :)
Thanks for the comments
