I am so glad that your photo wasn't DQ'ed.... I would never have gotten the chance to see it... When I first looked at this shot, before reading anything, it looked like a magnificant paintbruch creating a magnificant work of art..... this is such an amazing shot that I just look at it in awe..... so stunning - if i were to have voted on it, I would give it 10++++ |

I realized shortly after the contest began that I had not followed the challenge rules. I emailed SC and asked for my image to be disqualified. I also posted this thread in the forums:

I was told by several members of SC, in this thread and in emails, that not meeting the challenge rules was not grounds for disqualification. |

Bear is correct. The image being commented on came 4th in the challenge. Surely this can't be correct? I know the rules say that you can't be disqualified for not meeting the challenge, but this really goes beyond that. It means that a place has been denied to someone who has followed the challenge brief - doesn't seem very fair.

Very cool lines. Busy but not cluttered. One of my favorites. Great contrast and nice light. |

Looks like a venetian blind in the background... meaning its not an artificial light source. But, still a great composition. |

My impression is that the light is coming from a sunny window (with closed blinds), so it doesn't count as "single, artificial light source", but I like the angles here, and the variety of stripes and curves. |

I really love this shot, but I believe the light source is natural light. So, I'm torn. Gonna have to go with a 9. |

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume that's not sunshine through window blinds, but a special (artifical) lighting fixture. Love the effect! |
